It’s easy to get around by foot or transit with major TTC routes along Queen St. & Dundas and bus services that connect you to any area of the city. You can also get to the Exhibition Go Station and the Gardiner Expressway in about 20 minutes. However, to be fully immersed we suggest exploring by foot and stop in to pick up a coffee from white squirrel coffee shop, Ella’s Uncle, or Tampered press. One of the best streets for restaurants is the Ossington strip where the options extend from dive bars to specialty cuisine. There’s plenty to choose from and the local fare is impressive. The neighbourhood is also home to Bellwood’s brewery, which offers take-out or dine-in craft beer from locally sourced ingredients that change with the seasons. Queen Street offers an abundance of shops from vintage clothing, flower shops, art galleries, cafes, and unique accessories that make it popular among the artistic and entrepreneurial community.
Trinity Community Recreation Centre and Artscape Youngplace are other ways you can get involved in the community’s creativity. Activities range from drawing, dancing, swimming, music, theatre classes, kid’s camp and more. There are plenty of schools in the area, which makes it a great area for
young families to get their children started off on the right foot.
