The Junction

About the neighbourhood

Named for the railway lines that intersect through the Junction, it’s eclectic and industrial, this neighbourhood has become a popular place in the last 2 decades due to it’s conversion from a dry neighbourhood to booming business’ filled with artist’s and young families. While it’s still seen as transitional with homes ranging from suburban towns and detached, there is still plenty of character with the Victorian and Queen Anne style homes, duplexes and loft conversions. New construction of condos is on the rise as well, with developer’s moving out of the high cost of building in the core, the ample amounts of green space in the area make it attractive for young families.

Getting around is quite easy in this neighbourhood, by foot, bike, bus or car. The downtown core is about 10 minutes drive and the neighbourhood has an excellent transit score. Primarily parking is available in laneways for homeowners, street or public parking. Dundas St W has a variety of furniture shops and antiques as well as cafes, restaurants, and craft breweries.
