About the neighbourhood

On the west side of the city, Roncesvalles or affectionately shortened to “Roncey” is a tight-knit community-driven neighbourhood. With a heavy influence from it’s Polish residents its become a popular pick amongst young homeowners given that its family-friendly and a short commute into the core. It also has some of the best green spaces in town!

Most of the residents will tell you that their local go-to hang-out spot is at Sorauren Park. From the spring to the fall you can pick up locally grown, fresh and artisanal foods at the Sorauren farmer’s market. On November 1st, bring the little ones down to see the hundreds of carved and lit pumpkins for the pumpkin parade which lines the pathway with spooky creations from the neighbourhood. In the winter, you can take full advantage of the skating rink or shop for one-of-a-kind gifts at the Christmas craft market. If that isn’t enough, High Park is within walking distance where you can see the seasonal cherry blossoms bloom, have an adventure hike through the trails, bird watch by the pond, play a game of baseball or just bask under a tree. You can also visit the High Park zoo to see the llamas, highland cattle, deer, goats and all the other creatures roaming the premises.
